Saskatchewan is being led by fools
Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe recently released a white paper seeking to “reassert provincial autonomy”, claiming to have consulted the people of the province for input, which happened behind closed doors, while failing to even mention Indigenous resource rights.
The paper was announced at an event hosted by the Battlefords and District Chamber of Commerce, surrounded by friends and donors, no doubt in an effort to avoid any tough questions about the paper from an already-weakened provincial press.
Well, premier Scott Moe recently appeared on CTV News Question Period to discuss the paper. Let’s just say that it did not go over well. Click here to watch the interview.
Setting aside the credibility of the paper, and the likely reality that this would never happen nor would it benefit us in the long run, if Saskatchewan were to win more autonomy, I would hope we would be led by a government that is competent and wishing to do their job effectively. Instead, we have a government that makes excuses and blames others, while they sell the province off piece-by-piece. We deserve better than this.
