Standing with Palestine Against Apartheid

The Israeli government is stepping up its violent attacks against Palestine after protests of further Israeli attempts to evict and occupy Palestinian territory. You won’t hear much about this conflict in mainstream media, and if you do, you will likely not get the full, unvarnished truth. The fact is, Israel is an apartheid state much like South Africa of past and they are being protected by their powerful Western allies much like our own country, and our media.

Us lowly citizens do not have to stand with our governments, however. Just like we stood with black Africans over their segregation at the hands of white settlers in South Africa, we too must stand with the predominately-Muslim Palestinians who’s territory continue to get stolen by the predominately-Jewish Israeli occupiers. As uncomfortable as it is to do discuss these hard truths, it is the right thing to. This isn’t Antisemitism. This is an opposition to apartheid being enforced by the Israeli government. Their occupation of Palestinian territory must end and a peaceful solution to the ongoing violence must be sought, for the good of everyone in the region.

Please stand with me beside the Palestinians who deserve justice for the wrongs committed to them by the occupying forces for over 80 years.
