The power of connection
I know a lot of people who need to hear this:
You are closer to being homeless than being a billionaire. Understand that.
One thing I have learned in my life is that many of us, and I have been guilty of it too, live as if we are temporarily embarrassed millionaires.
It doesn't hurt to set goals for ourselves and aim for the stars, but when we are so focused on the future, especially when that future is highly improbable, we end up completely ignoring the now.
What really matters are the connections we make, and the laughs, knowledge and love we share with our favourite people. These are the things that are actually achievable in a highly probable way, because this ability is natural in every one of us.
Life is hard for all of us, to varying degrees, but when we have each other, the power of connection makes these problems much easier to mitigate or solve.
If we can understand all of this, we can make better decisions that affect not only ourselves, but those around us, and even perfect strangers. There is power in solidarity, not just economically but socially and spiritually.
This isn't mythical. This is 100% science. This is to be human. This is our greatest survival instinct.
